11 things you didn̢۪t know about the Toy Story franchise

Gambar
The jewel in Pixar's crown, the Toy Story franchise revolutionised animated cinema, cemented Tom Hanks' place as a Hollywood treasure and definitively answered one of childhood's most pressing questions – what happens to all of our dolls, action figures and Mr Potato Heads when they're left alone? It's also growing up quick. This year its flawless first three instalments celebrate their 25th, 21st and 10th anniversaries respectively. As well as making us all feel old, this triple milestone is also an opportunity to uncover some of the little-known facts about the adventures of Woody, Buzz and the rest of the iconic gang. Its two main characters originally looked very different In a case of "What were they thinking?", animators originally drew Woody as a creepy ventriloquist's dummy. But after realising that he could possibly give young viewers nightmares, the leading man was thankfully reinvented by director John Lasseter as one of his own child...

Gambar
Robin Harris runs a Northeast Portland group home that includes several foster children with intellectual developmental disabilities. Prior to coronavirus, one of their favorite activities was the short walk to the corner convenience store. Being able to get a drink and a snack and say hello to the store owner made their day. Coronavirus has shuttered the store and an important opportunity to interact. It meant something last weekend when Joseph "Jay" Kapp arranged to have a large shipment of games, puzzles and educational toys delivered to the home. "It was like Christmas all over for them again," Harris said. Kapp, a court-appointed special advocate (CASA), has watched the impact coronavirus outbreak has had on the special-needs children throughout Portland. Home-bound since the middle of March, the daily interaction and learning was all but lost since the virus struck. The Topps Company Inc., a U.S. maker of trading cards, collectibles and candy, has sold out its first release of digital Garbage Pail Kids trading cards using a blockchain platform. Garbage Pail Kids were originally a series of sticker trading cards released by the company in 1985 and were designed to parody Cabbage Patch Kids dolls, which were popular at the time. Topps partnered with Exposition Park Holdings, the company behind the WAX or Worldwide Asset eXchange blockchain to launch a limited release of 12,000 digital packs on May 12 and found a willing audience, with the packs selling out in 28 hours. The sale of the digital trading cards is said to be the first time that a decentralized app on a blockchain has broken down the barrier between the blockchain/crypto world and that of traditional collectibles...
